End of year information!
The end is near! The following describes the end of year activities and academic finals.
• Graduation pictures:
May 14. Bring your pressed gown and a change of nice clothes (doesn't
have to be your graduation outfit). Gentlemen please wear a tie. Pictures will take place in the
afternoon rotations.
Bring your camera. Fun photo pictures. I take pictures for graduation presentation.
• Finals week: May 19 through May 23. (Note that some classes will give finals earlier but will
have a project due during “finals” week.)
All morning exams are from 8:30-9:30 am
All afternoon classes are from 11:45-12:45 pm
May 09 and 12 -American Literature
May 19 - Grammar
May 20 - Spanish written
May 21 - Spanish oral during LA rotation
May 21 - 1st am and 1st pm classes
May 22 - 2nd am and 2nd pm classes
May 23 - 3rd am and 3rd pm classes
Vignette Project Due
• Eighth grade service outreach: May 30.
• Committee work and in school service: May 27-May 30
•. Graduation practices: May 27-30 and June 4 after Baccalaureate Mass Students are
expected to be at school during normal times (8:25 to 3:00).
• Eighth grade retreat: June 2.
• Evening of celebration: June 2, 6-8:00 pm. In lieu of student led conferences. All
students are required to attend.
• Eighth grade outing: June 3. Family Fun Center
• Baccalaureate Mass: June 4. Parents, families, friends are all invited to join in the Mass
celebration. Students need to be at school at normal time. Mass will begin at 9:15 a.m. Dress nicely.
No shorts or jeans, please. Students will be dismissed around 11:30 am after a final graduation practice.
• Graduation Attire: Graduation is an important time to reflect and to have fun. There is no need to
rush out an buy an outfit appropriate for senior proms, college graduations, or the Academy Awards.
Gentlemen:
1. Suit and tie or sports jacket and tie
or
2. Sweater with dress shirt and tie
3. Slacks (no jeans)
4. Dress shoes (no tennis shoes)
Ladies:
1. Age appropriate outfit. Remember this is an 8th grade graduation.
2. Reasonable necklines (no cleavage or plunging necklines)
3. No strapless or backless dresses.
4. Spaghetti straps allowed if worn with a light jacket or sweater.
• Graduation ceremony: June 4 7:00 p.m. in St. Joseph's Church.
Students must arrive in their homerooms by 6:15 p.m. Be sure to have your
gown (pressed). Leave valuables with your parents or at home.
• Graduation dinner: Rocksalt (1232 Ave N. 206-284-1047)
A bus will take the students to Rocksalt and will return to St. Joseph's around 11:30 pm.
